Ali Hamidi is a seasoned entrepreneur having set up his first company along with his brother in 2004, which was later sold to a large Taiwanese IT company. Since then he has been involved in a number of tech startups and is currently Co-founder and CTO of Piranha Byte, a Dubai based mobile games developer. Ali graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with a Bachelor in Computer Science. He has a strong foundation in mobile and web technologies and has designed highly scalable distributed real-time networks.

Ali was a participant at Startup Weekend Dubai where he came up with the idea for Stringcast, a feature-rich mobile blogging platform. The Stringcast concept along with supporting slides, documentation, business model and prototype source code are being made available online for free under a Creative Commons License.
